Sonya Wimberly Hawkins is a community advocate, leader, wife of a Desert Storm veteran, mother, and Democratic nominee for Georgia State Senate District 16.

For Sonya, policy is personal. She's running to protect voting rights, improve maternal health, strengthen public education, support small businesses, and build local economies to create opportunity for working families.

Sonya isn't a career politician. She's a longtime community member who believes government should work for the people it serves. Her campaign is rooted in transparency, accountability, accessibility, and service. She's running to make sure the voices of Fayette, Lamar, Pike, and Spalding counties are heard at the Gold Dome.
